| How much are the gamecube controllers going for at GJ nowadays? And do they come in other colors besides purple, silver and black? I would go in and find out, but it's closed right now :/ |

I believe $25, just bought one a week ago. From what I hear, wired black controllers are all Nintendo is making these days. _________________

From everything I've heard, they have indeed stopped making wavebirds. People on other forums have contaced Nintendo and everytime the response was that production has stopped. The grey ones are impossible to find, but I've seen a few silver straglers around; GJ has been wavebirdless for months and months.
Just another example of Nintendo's insanity. _________________

There are some weird yet awesome $15 GCN controllers. They are the exact same as the regular GCN controller (Buttons, look, everything), just no Nintendo logo. _________________

Tim-GJ pointed something out to me the other day. He made the point that Nintendo is probably not making 'Cube controllers because they're putting all of their focus into production of Wii stuff that they're already behind on enough as it is. _________________ Commander Of Nonchildpornography:

It's a shame that Wavebirds aren't being made anymore. Before the 360 wireless pad, it was the best wireless controller out there, I only felt that the Airstyle wireless pads that vintage GJ fans will remember was close.
You know too, while the whole dial system for setting wireless channels now seems a bit old fashioned, it also worked better than some of the wireless tech does now for avoiding interference.
Glad I have a few put away. _________________ -Sir Scooter Von Vieth XII

Dug mine out about a month ago, dumb me had left the batteries in them in my storage bin! Thankfully, the acid buildup wasn't bad, cleaned 'em up, and they work just like they did when I first bought them. Heck, even plugged them into a PS2-USB converter I had and they still worked. It might be the cheapest way to get a good wireless PC pad out there still.
Other apparently interesting factoid ... the company that made 'em, Fountech? Their web domain points to one of those "dead portal search" things. They must have gone under.
There's exactly ONE on eBay ... currently active, none in history! The store had one seriously good and still very unknown find there. _________________ -Sir Scooter Von Vieth XII
